HI! My name is Lydia Houston and I am SO excited to be a part of the Leeds Primary School
First Grade Team.

Personal:
I was born and raised in Ruskin, Florida but have lived in Alabama for the past 10+ years. I
graduated from Shades Valley High School Finance Academy in 2014. In 2017 I married my highschool sweetheart, Chi and we have a little girl named Ila who turned 2 in December. We have lived in Leeds since getting married and we love being part of this wonderful community!

Academic:

I hold a Associate’s degree in Social Work from Jefferson State Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Western Governors University, and am currently pursuing a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University.

Experience:

I previously worked as a licensed Realtor before I decided to go
back to school to pursue teaching. I have taught in some faucet for the past 6 years. I have
worked as a substitute teacher for Leeds City Schools, a preschool teacher at Covenant
Classical Schools, an admin & couch at Soccer Shots, ect. I officially began teaching 1st grade at Leeds Primary School in January of 2021.
