Facility Upgrades at LCS
The LCS Maintenance Team and the Technology Team may as well be renamed “The Dream Team” after the work they put in over the summer. In just 2 short months, the “Dream Team” covered a lot of ground to make sure our facilities were ready to open our doors this August.
At Leeds Elementary School, crews worked all summer to replace the air conditioning units in the front hallway classrooms, the library, and the cafeteria. According to LCS Facilities and Maintenance Manager Jim Simpson, LES is currently running temporary air in the kitchens. Students pick up lunches to eat in their classrooms until the work is finished in the lunchroom. That project is set to be finished by the beginning of October.
At Leeds Middle School, students in PE Class will enjoy playing basketball on the newly refinished hardwood floor. The old floor was stripped, repainted, and refinished over the summer. In the lunchroom, you will find new graphics on the wall to welcome students into the cafeteria line.
The Primary School debuted a new route for carline on the first day of school. You may notice there is a new stop sign to help make the carline a success. There is also a newly painted yellow line to help guide students inside the building and keep students safe during carline.
The High school has a new area for the students to hang out during lunchtime. "The Commons” has couches, chairs, high-top tables, and more to give students another option for seating during lunch.
All LCS schools also have freshly waxed floors, fresh paint throughout the buildings, clean carpets, and new paint on the school entrances.
Thank you, "Dream Team" for making our facilities a place to be proud of!
