LCS gives National Board Certified Teachers $10,000

Leeds City Schools currently has 16 National Board Certified Teachers, which is the most respected professional certificate available in education. Today, our school system rewarded those 16 teachers with a nice bonus of $10,000.

The National Board Certification process is quite an undertaking, but there are numerous benefits for teachers, students and schools. The program was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

At Leeds, we offer teachers who are interested in pursuing NBCT the chance to apply for the Leeds City Schools NBCT Cohort.The Cohort is designed to help teachers walk through and pay for the process. Each candidate in the cohort is also given a CSP, "Candidate Support Provider", to help the candidate walk through the process.
