2 LHS Seniors headed for NYU & Tulane thanks to VIDAL Access
2 Leeds High School Seniors are one step closer to achieving their dreams, while also leaving a huge impact on other students at LHS, thanks to a man named "Mr. Bev".
Watch this video to see Lilly Dawson and Hannalyse Hudson's dreams come true.
Lilly is headed to Tulane University and Hannalyse to NYU. They both say this wouldn't be possible without a program called VIDAL Access.
Lance Beverly is the founder of VIDAL ACCESS which serves low-income students by providing high-level college counseling. "Mr. Bev" says the program has 2 components. The first component is an "in school college consultant". Mr. Bev is at Leeds High School several days a week to meet with the students in the program. VIDAL Access provides essay support, test preparation coaching, summer programs, and more. The second component is "The Dream Initiative", which is a once in a lifetime, all expenses paid, trip to either Washington, D.C. or New York City. Lilly and Hannalyse went with Mr. Bev to New York this past summer. They explored NYU, Columbia University, Google, Morgan Stanley, and many other places.
Lilly and Hannalyse will head to their new adventures in a few months, but they are leaving a legacy here in Leeds; they have shown others that "anything is possible".
Hannalyse and Mr. Bev talked about VIDAL Access recently during an interview for "Talk of Alabama". You can see the interview by clicking this link.
