It’s time to register for Kindergerten for
the 2026–27 School Year
Eligibility
Students must have turned 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 and are NEW to Leeds Primary School!
*Returning students will receive more information in May.
Registration Process
In-Person Kindergarten Registration
Date: Tuesday April 21st, 2026, 4-6 pm
Where: LPS Library
Please submit all required information through our online registration form. Once submitted, your information will be reviewed, and you will receive next steps via the email address you provide.
Step 1: Complete Online Registration
Parents/guardians must create a PowerSchool account and complete Online Registration for their student(s).

The account must be created by a parent or legal guardian.

All required information must be entered to complete the process.

Current students will complete a Returning Student Form in mid-May.

Step 2: Required Documents
You will need to upload the following documents during the registration process:

Current Alabama Immunization Form
-
Birth Certificate for the student
-
Driver’s License or Photo ID of custodial parent/legal guardian

Social Security number
-
Previous school withdrawal paperwork (if applicable)

Custody papers, if applicable
-
Required if both parents are listed on the birth certificate but do not live in the same household

Must be the final/current court order with the judge’s signature

Proof of Residence Requirements
All students must provide proof of residence in the parent/legal guardian’s name:
Required Documents

Two (2) current utility bills
-
Disconnect notices are not accepted
-
Acceptable providers: Alabama Power, Leeds Water Works, Jefferson County Sewer, or Spire Gas

If utilities are included in your lease, please locate them within the lease

One of the following:

Current lease agreement (must list occupants and physical address)

Mortgage statement

Property deed
(Parent/legal guardian must reside full-time at the address.)

Special Residency Situations
If you are living with someone else or cannot provide the required documents, you must contact the Leeds City Schools Board of Education to schedule an appointment.

All third-party residency applications are handled at the Board of Education. Once approved, upload your residency letter in the registration form as a “3rd Party Form.”
Additional Information

Families with students currently enrolled at Leeds Primary School will receive an email with instructions for next year’s registration in May.

You may check if your residence is within city limits using the City Council District Map.

If you do not live in Leeds, you must enroll through the school district where you reside.
