January Board Meeting Recap
The Leeds City Schools Board of Education met on Tuesday, January 14th for their first meeting of the new year. The meeting was held at the Central Office. Here's a recap of the meeting:
- The meeting kicked off by recognizing 2 LCS teachers who recently received the news that they passed all components to be named a "National Board Certified Teacher". Peyton Black is a kindergarten teacher at Leeds Primary School. Lance Higdon is a math teacher at Leeds High School. Leeds City Schools now has 15 National Board Certified Teachers in the district.
- The Board approved the Minutes from last meeting.
- LCS Chief School Financial Officer, Ryan Miller, presented board members with the district’s monthly financial statements.
- The board approved the 2025-2026 Academic Calendar.
- The board approved the latest personnel recommendations.
- The board approved the Science Textbook Committee.
- The next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 11th.
The meeting ended with a lunch to honor the Leeds City Schools Board of Education. January is Board Appreciation Month!
