My name is Jessica Rose, and I teach 6th grade math. This is my third year teaching 6th grade at Leeds. I have been teaching for 20 years, with 11 years at Leeds. Before teaching 6th grade, I served as the Math Instructional Coach for the district and worked with all grades from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I know many of these students from my time at the Primary school working in the after-school-care programs and from my time spent in their classrooms working with their teachers. It's so exciting to see how much they have all grown! I am honored to be their math teacher this year and can't wait to see all they will learn.
A little about me:
I am married with 5 children in all! My youngest is a senior at LHS, so we are in the season of getting ready to send her off to college soon! I have three grandchildren and love being a grandparent! My family and I love to travel and spend time together.
I attended Auburn University and obtained my Bachelors degree in Zoology as a Pre-Veterinary major in 2001. I continued my education, but shifted paths by moving to Birmingham and getting my Masters degree in Early Childhood/Elementary education from UAB in 2004. I began my career at Tarrant as a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher for 9 years before joining the Leeds City Schools family. Leeds is a great community, provides lots of opportunities for our children, and is a great place to work.
I am excited to be part of your child's educational journey!
