My name is Darlene Beane and I'm so excited to serve your children as their school counselor. I'm originally from Huntsville, AL. I graduated from Hazel Green High School and then made my move to Tuscaloosa, AL to pursue a teaching degree. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. I got my first job at Leeds Elementary as a kindergarten teacher and have been a part of the Leeds family ever since. I have taught kindergarten for two years, first grade for two years, and this is my 10th year as a school counselor.
I also got married to my husband Shawn in 2011 and we have three beautiful children. We have a set of twin boys and a daughter! We also have two fur babies named Daisy and Binx!

At Leeds Primary School, your child is able to receive counseling services several different ways. Counseling services are provided in a classroom setting, small group setting, and individually. I will see every classroom in the school once a week for 30 minutes for classroom guidance lessons. (Pre-K will have monthly visits.) I also see small groups on a variety of topics such as divorce, friendship, anger management, social skills, and grief. Lastly, I see students individually as needed. If you would like to refer your child for individual counseling, you may simply send me an email with your concerns.
