Mr. Adam Truesdale

Mr. Truesdale is starting his 15th year at Leeds City Schools and 18th year in education. He has been the assistant principal at Leeds Primary School since 2018. Previously Mr. Truesdale was the assistant principal at Leeds Middle School. Prior to that, he was the Director of Bands at LMS. During his tenure as director of bands, the band doubled in size and also consistently scored superior ratings at Music Performance Assessment. The band also scored superior ratings at all other contests. Mr. Truesdale was the associate director of bands at Tuscaloosa County High School prior to coming to Leeds City Schools.

Mr. Truesdale holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Music Education(2006) from Samford University, as well as a Master's of Science in Instructional Leadership(2010) from Samford University. He recently completed his Educational Specialist (Ed.S) in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo. He earned the prestigious National Board Certification in 2013 in Music(EAYA) and completed his maintenance of certificate in 2023. His work with National Boards includes mentoring teachers through the Leeds City School Cohort. His work with National Boards is also published in ATLAS as an example for other candidates.

He is a member of the Council for Leaders of Alabama Schools(CLAS) and the Alabama Association of Elementary Administrators(AAESA). He is married to his wife Casey, also an educator. They have 2 children, Annabel and Landon. In his free time he enjoys traveling, photography, and playing trombone in the church orchestra.
