Ms. Kim Van Valkenburgh

Hello! My name is Ms. Van Valkenburgh (aka Ms. Kim)! I have been teaching in Leeds since 2003 and am currently the Resource Teacher for Reading for grades K-2..

I was born in Oxford, England and lived in 8 various locations before I was 16! My father served in the Air Force for over 20 years, so my mom, sister and I were given the opportunity to live and travel around the world! I have had a wide variety of animals growing up but currently have one dog named Zoey!

I graduated Vestavia Hills High School, received my Bachelor's Degree from University of South Alabama and my Master's from University of Alabama and UAB.

I love to hike (with Zoey) at Oak Mountain, crochet blankets and attend Church of the Highlands.
